HOLY CARP!
Local fisherman Brandon, a Reno native, landed an impressive 24-pound common carp this past weekend at Sparks Marina!
“Born and raised in Reno, I’m 29 years old, and this was my first time reeling in a big, beautiful hog,” Brandon shared. “I was shocked and excited like a little kid! I’ve been fishing since I was young, but recently I started researching different species and learning how to set up rigs and it’s finally paying off. Now I’m catching some great fish around town and even getting my kids in on the action. It’s been an awesome experience and a lot of fun memories.”
Common carp are very abundant at the Sparks Marina and across Nevada.

Great work, Brandon — thanks for sharing your story and inspiring others to get out and fish!
