Bass Fishing Was Steady

Bass fishing was steady last week, although the worm bite seems to have slowed some, but reaction baits got bit well. Jerk baits, and small swimbaits reportedly took fish in the 1 to 2 pound range, bigger fish came on top waters, and medium sized boot and paddle tails.
Bluegill action getting a bit tough now, although most guys targeting them are picking up a few of the larger grade gills along with some palm sized fish as well. Catfish were M.I.A

San Vicente ReservoirThe bass bite is day to day, with fish scatted from 5’ to 30’ in the water column. There has been largemouth shoooled up in the backs of both the Kimball, and Barona arms of the lake, but have been difficult to catch. The shallow fish have been eating jigs, rip baits, and small swimbaits. The deeper ones have been taking finesse techniques such as drop shot, Neko rigs. San Vicente ReservoirThe bass have been scattered from 1’ to 25’ and were caught on a wide variety of baits, and techniques. In the early mornings look for breaking fish in the marina, around the buoy line at the dam, and both the toll road, and Kimball Arms. There’s still plenty of bluegill in the backs of coves, and cuts, and have been eating dropshotted worms, and mealworms fished under a bobber. Catfish went unreported last week. ...... Read More
