The fishing at P-Mid has been pretty good over the past month. Once again the fish just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. At least 3 fish have been caught over 15 pounds with a fly rod so far. The reports of fish between 8 and 12 pounds have been coming in daily. Considering the water temperature is still in the 40\'s the best is yet to come. Fish are being caught on a variety of methods with stripping beetles and tadpoles or nymphing under an indicator with Maholo flies being the most popular. We have all the latest patterns in stock at the Reno Fly Shop.
A few things to consider when fishing Pyramid this spring. The nets are closed until May 15th. The fish are still spread out and can be found on a number of beaches. Pyramid is now a single barbless hook fishery. Don\'t forget to pinch down your barbs. If you are fishing out of a floating vessel you may need a boat permit. If it is powered by oars or a motor the fee is $9 a day. Float tubes are o.k. The lake is 22 miles long and 12 miles wide. You do not have to fish 5 feet from someone else. If you are fishing a popular beach expect that you will. Our guides spend countless hours on no name beaches in search of fish. Let us help you expand your knowledge of Pyramid Lake.
