Water conditions are low, clear and cooler. Good baetis hatches on the rainy days can be experienced anywhere along the 35 miles of river above Lake Shasta. Mid day fishing has improved over the past couple weeks! Anglers getting on the water early and then again near sunset are still doing best. Dry dropper rigs are the ticket. Try a Stimulator and a black Zebra Midge dropper.

Fishing nymphs under a brushy dry fly (.. like Oct. Caddis) or high-sticking the riffles and bubbly water has been the most productive fishing methods this week.

A good fly box will have various sizes of Parachute Adams from #14 - 18, Dark Stonefly Nymphs in #6-8, Black Midge Nymph Patterns and #12 Bird's Nest, #18 Gordon Prince Nymphs. See suggested fly patterns in the accompanying sidebar for reference.
