Water temperatures are at 53 degrees this week.  Mt Lassen planted 1200 pounds of trout at the public launch on December 3rd.  Trout are being caught from the south end to the Dam on Power Bait, Crawlers, Rapalas, and Kastmasters.  Striped bass are also hitting Rat-L-Traps, Jerkbaits, Jigs, and Bait.

Catfish are being caught as well; some of them are big and in the 20 pound class.  Largemouth and smallmouth bass are being illusive but can still be caught drop shotting or working a crawdaddy jig.

Al Hurwitz of Saratoga and Abbey Lev of Sunnyvale trolled the lake on 12/3/15 until severe wind and rain shut us down. Had a few hits and caught two nice smallmouth bass which were released.

Pictured here is Al with a two pound smallmouth caught trolling a small split Rapala along the western shore opposite Swallow Bay. This fish struck very hard about 7-10 feet below the surface.
