Steelhead fishing has slowed as the river clears and flows drop. Fish are available throughout the entire fishery area (Reminder- upstream of Moon Cr., at Blaine is closed). Side drifting, bobber doggin’, or drift fishing have been productive. Bobber and jig is a good method in clearer water. Spring Chinook season angling is slow. Bay will be the best bet to target springers early in the season. Bobber fishing in the Pacific City area or trolling herring out near the mouth both produce fish. Just be prepared to put in a lot of time until more fish arrive.
