This week its striper action on the Colorado River. I am getting reports that near the dam is producing some great catches. Not much word on limits as of yet (limit is 10 on the river) but anglers are having success on both sides and in the casino area also. In the upper big bend area its some of the larger fish this month.
We have Albert Chapman and Paul Preston(blue shirt) with 26.10 pound stripped Bass at 40 and 1/2 inches. fishing from shore and using anchovies.
Just down stream some our local anglers and father and son Charles Rolda and dad Alvin Dad landed two stripers at 4.66 pounds and the smaller at 2.80 pounds while 12 year old Charles brought in a 13.60 pound striper at 33 and 3/8 inches. anchovies and from shore.
And further down river in the lower big bend area. while out fishing on his boat its bashful Bill and our old time angler Walter Graham fishing with anchovies they were able to bring in these to show off bill got 2 while Walt landed the bigger one Oh yes that is me (Rusty) holding Bashful Bills fish. It seems if he is shown in the paper he has to by doughnuts however if you know who it is you have to buy him one. these are closer to the size that’s being caught up and down the river. seems to be a run going on. the marsh is producing cat fish mostly in the 1 to 4 pound range.
Lake Mohave has slowed some as the winds have kept even the hardest angler of the rough water. always check for wind warnings on the lake and let someone know where you are. I have been getting some reports that near the dam was doing ok not much word from the coves above the power lines Hope you like these reports and we wish to see you in soon with that catch to share, ice them down and see you soon.
