Funniest story this week by: Jeremy Stovall from Lincoln–who was fishing off the beach with a lure and hooked a trout which was being chased by a catfish who ate the trout! You guessed it, he brought in a trout and a catfish at the same time, now that takes skill……
Christopher Lautz was trolling for trout with a Kastmaster around 15′ down and caught a Catfish, weighing in at 8 lb. 4 oz.
Big thanks to all the I Phone pictures sent to me this week by Tom Pickett and Jim Coats with a stringer of trout including Jim’s big 5 pounder. Also from the McGuireand the Zaski families with some nice trout and Cats. Fred Bennett of Roseville sent me a great picture of his 6 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow he caught trolling.
Todd Porter from Weimar double dipped this week by catching not one, but TWO huge trout (6 lb. 7 oz. and a 5 lb. 7 oz.) trolling at about 20′ down he says with a Rapala. Jan & Gary Truesdail from Mt. Aukum, Ca. caught so many fish while camping here and their biggest one was 3 lb. 4 oz. and they trolled near the dam using Needlefish lures.
Ryan LeClair was literally on the bottom of the lake 90′ down and hooked a 7 lb. 8 oz. trout on a crank bait.
Rick Grimmett netted the biggest trout this week, a monster 9 lb. trout which was tempted by his Speedy Shiner he trolled in the main body of the lake.
The Lean Green Fishing Machine continues to catch trout everyday and Beverly Nason caught a 4 lb. on a worm/PowerBait combo by the beach. Mark McBee limited out and his biggest trout caught on a dodger/worm combo was 6 lb. 2 oz.
Josh, Larry, Jake & Kaylee brought in a 6 lb. 8 oz. trout which they caught on a downrigger and a worm by the dam. Luke & Tyler Beam from Marysville hooked a nice Bass on a rubber worm in the far cove by the dam.
