Trout fishing has been starting to slow down for the last couple weeks, but anglers are still pulling some out. Last catfish plant was 1,000 lbs. Water temperature remains in the mid 70’s and water clarity is about 4 feet visibility. The visibility of the water should clear up in the next couple of days depending on the weather.

All of our boats are half off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays!

CATFISH

Catfishing is starting to heat up. A great shore spot for catfishing is either Raccoon Point or the first dock on the West shore trail. Anglers have been using Mackerel and nightcrawlers to catch their limits! Also, Anglers have been renting out boats to go to Bass Cove, which is another killer spot for satfish using the same technique and baits.

TROUT

Trout fishing is still keeping some anglers busy this time of the year. Several reports of trout were reported getting caught early morning on the east shore trails from Indian Cove to Raccoon Point but as the water warms up trout fishing will slow down. The trout are going to be in deep water so when trolling for trout play around with some weights about a foot from the lure. Fishing near the shore, near or across from Raccoon point and back by the dam should do the trick to pull them out. Please follow our facebook page to keep updated on fishing conditions.

BASS

With the warm weather we are expecting this upcoming week, bass fishing should be great. Bass fishing already has been steady for the last several weeks with some bass anglers catching and releasing good numbers. If you do want to try your luck a couple good spots to fish for bass are near the island or in bass cove using a drop shot rig, or weightless wacky senko. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!

The weather this week has been superb, temperatures in the mid 80s to low 90s with only about 2-4 MPH winds. The water temperature is sitting at a warm 74 degrees and the water clarity is sitting about 8-10 feet. The best bet for fishing is going to be either catfish or stripe bass. With the warm water the bait fish are rising; which means the stripes are rising with them. Top water action has started; we've seen many schools...... Read More
