Boat Dock Closes: 6:00 PM, Dailey
Water Level: Holding steady
The trout action has been fairly good over the past week. The best baits
have been rainbow and green power bait, night crawlers, and small gold
Kastmasters proving best. The Buoy line and Pier #3 areas have been
seeing the best action. Try using light line (2 to 4 pound), water bobbers,
and fishing from the bottom of the lake for better success. Most anglers
are reporting average size trout in the 1 to 2-pound range. The last stock
was planted March 19, with 1200 pounds of rainbow trout. Dixon is
planting another 1200 pounds of rainbow trout the week of March 31 to
April 4.
No catfish were reported this week. Try using cut mackerel in the deeper
parts of the lake or near the Buoy line.
March madness is almost over???still no sign of the bigger females
showing up yet. The bass action is still happening this past week with a
large number of bass anglers fishing the North Shoreline and the shallows
areas around the lake. Local bass anglers are reporting average-size bass
in the 1 to 3-pound range hitting on any type of plastics or swim baits.
The conditions are prime for the big bucketmouths to make a showing.
No big bass were reported this week.
