The trout are still biting very well as the fish that are coming in are mostly 4 to 7 lbs. The best lures being rapalas and flicker shad in a firetiger pattern, however the fish have started biting a color called gold speckled shiner flicker shad. Nightcrawlers with a bobber are still tearing it up. Great news for you crappie fishermen 4 crappie were caught during the week, along with a couple of bass, large and small mouth. Oh, and a 31b. catfish. The lake is still filling slowly. The fishing pier in mohawk is now floating. The carp are still all over the place as usual.

Tidbits: Some people like eating carp. Grass carp can attain a weight of 55 lbs.

The trout are going strong again with bigger fish being the majority of what is being caught. Nightcrawlers, firetiger, rapalas. and gold speckeled shiners being the preferred meal of choice. With the weather warming up but not the water, the trout bite is starting to pick up again.Fish are coming in from 3 to 6 pounds and being very acrobatic, jumping flying through the air. Troll firetiger patterns and increase trotting speed slightly more than normal. Drifting crawlers on a bobber will do the job also.
