The winter steelhead are starting to make a presence in the lower Klamath River.  IRONHEAD GUIDE SERVICE has been fishing the Klamath the last couple of weeks and have brought a few fresh fish over the rail. The Chetco, and the Smith are a little behind schedule right now do to a lack of rain so pro guide MARIO GOMEZ is focusing efforts on the Klamath River as long as the weather remains the same.

The fish have been having a hard time resisting a side drifted yarn and egg presentation, and a back trolled steelhead plug has also been triggering some tight line strikes. The fish are spread out through the runs so work the holes over good and grind em till you fine em. The KLAMATH RIVER FISHING has been the most consistent with 10 to 15 half pounders and 2 to 4 adults a day.

Mario only has a few days left to book in his boat, but has guides available on most rivers so BOOK NOW before you miss out on your winter steelhead fishing trip. Call 530-598-0530 to talk to the TOP RATED State of Jefferson fishing guide and book your next wilderness fishing adventure.
