Trout Bite is Going Stong
Colorado River - Davis Dam - Davis Dam, NV

The trout bite is going strong here below the Davis Dam along the Colorado river. I have been hearing that the sunshine peninsula has been giving up limits as well as Rotary park area. This means that at the park you should try the shoreline and watch for the ripples. In the morning the trout are rising to feed on the caddis fly. I have been getting reports that spinners are doing well along with power bait and night crawlers. Our local angler Elmer Davies and his visiting family Eric Slletta were fishing off Elmer's dock and Eric's step son Cody Rea ( 9 years old) landed this 5.32 pound rainbow at 22 and 1/2 inches. The Rainbow trout that have been brought in have been in the 1 pound range at around 12 to 14 inches. The Striper bite is starting to pick up some.. the evening seems to be working a bit better for stripers and again rotary park has produced a few in the 2 to 4 pound range with anchovies doing well.
