- Night Fishing has now ended, but not to worry we have New Moon Fishing on the horizon. In the off-season we do one evening of night fishing every month. The first one will be held Saturday, September 28th. The lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and full size lanterns are required after 7:00 p.m.
- We are having our last stocking of the season with 1,000 lbs of catfish coming this week!
- Anglers are reeling in bass from all over the lake. Some choice locations are Half Moon Cove and Sentry Point. Baits to try are large nightcrawlers and orange crusher roboworms. Anglers eyeing catfish in Eagle point last weekend caught some good sized bass on garlic nightcrawlers too!
- Bluegill and redear are biting on medium nightcrawlers and wax worms around the T-dock and in Hermit Cove.
- Half Moon Cove and Shadow Cove were popular spots for the catfish this past weekend. We'd recommend cut mackerel and chicken livers. If you're feeling adventurous, have a BBQ at the lake and throw a piece of hot dog on your hook!
- Have you made your camping reservations yet for Spooky Camp-O-Ween? There are still some sites available. Don't miss all the fun and excitement available for registered campers! There will be spooky stories and s'mores. Campsite trick or treating and a campsite decorating contest! Plus, two weekends of a spooktacular time! BOO!
- It is the perfect season to rent a Tipi! They rent for $65/night Sunday-Thursday and $75/night Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays. You can book them on our website at www.lakejennings.org or you can give us a call at (619) 390-1623 for assistance. Also, check out the Events Calendar on our website for the latest on upcoming activities at the lake!
- Remember, Lake Jennings is a drinking water reservoir therefore, no body contact is permitted. Some ideas to stay cool on these warm days is by soaking a bandana and draping it over your neck or forehead. Mist your clothing and wear light colors when you're here.
- If you love camping, the campground has many fun things for children (and kids at heart) to do! Tetherball, giant Jenga, Horseshoes, and Corn Hole. There is also a covered playground area available with a swing set for the kids. Head to the Pavilion any day for games like ping pong or foosball! Enjoy campfire s'mores with Ranger Rusty Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
- Please remember to make sure your trash gets in the proper receptacles when you are here at the lake. Staff just freed a great horned owl this morning that was stuck in fishing line. Please help us help the wildlife by disposing of your fishing line properly.
