Catfish was the story of the week. Dozens were caught throughout the lake mostly on mackerel and dough baits. Two were caught with Rapala lures near the dam. One young angler had the catch of the day on Sunday. Presley Rosenthal, 6 from Moorpark stole the sow with an 18” catfish caught on a worm. This weekend Brough tout the bass. On Saturday at least 20 were reported caught mostly off of jigs and crank bait, trolling the cent no more them 20’ down. Some young lures and off of the points. Roger Mann from Lompoc caught a 2lb. Last week at Lake Cachuma we had high winds and the lake was restricted to large boats periodically. A 5 lb. bass were caught as well as catfish and trout by one angler using night crawls on Tuesday. The winds have picked up this week! The water level has continued to drop. Bluegill and Catfish have been very active, and the catches have been plentiful! Sail Cove has been truing out some good sized bluegill. Catfish are being reported all over, averaging about 4-5 pounds.
