I got a report for the crooked from some regulars who fished it last week when the snow first hit. The whitefish are still spawning and eggs are working very well, swing by the shop and check out some of the new patterns we got this week, lots of eggy options! The bugs didn’t pop but I would expect some decent action this coming week with temps reaching into the 40s and some rain in places. When the rain falls the BWO’s come out and you can have a couple different baetis coming off at once this small mayfly likes the cloudy, rainy, nasty weather that most of us anglers avoid. The color of the bugs can vary so having a couple of options as far as color not just size is key. I carry lighter and darker patterns as well as basic attractors like the Para Wullf or Purple Haze.

Suggested Dries: Purple Haze #16-20, Black Chubby Chernobyl #12-16, Griffiths Gnat #18-22, Hi Vis BWO #18-20, Tilt Wing BWO #18-20, Hackle Stacker #18-22, Parachute BWO #18-20.

Suggested Nymphs: Clown Egg #8, Flash Tail eggs #18, Unreal Egg #14, Zebra Midge #18-22, Perdigon Black #14-18, Twisted may #16, CDC Jigged Pheasant Tail #14-16, Juju Baetis Black #18-22.
