Conditions on the Russian are prime right now for targeting steelhead! The river flow is holding near 530 cfs with excellent visibility which makes it perfect for swinging flies. Fisherman are having the most success now floating bait and jigs under a float with the fly fisherman swinging bosses and comets picking up some fish too. The weather forecast is not calling for any rain so expect things to stay good for quite some time. The hatchery numbers are down with 1085 fish at Warm Springs and 355 at Coyote but I assume this is due to the ease of fish being caught by both fisherman and our pinniped enemies at the mouth of the river!
