First time Klamath river fisher woman Cathy caught an released her first Steelhead with her husband Jim by her side, gotta love these gorgeous blue sky February fish catching days.

Fishing on the Klamath continues to be steady. Steelhead in the river are in all stages of spawning mode right now meaning we are catching fish that have spawned and haven't spawned. We have had lazy short biting and smashing no doubt about it biting fish. That is what happens when these fish go into spawn mode. All good challenging fishing fun. Backtrolling Maglips and casting Rapalas have been the best methods for hooking up. Anchovy and Carpspit Pro-Cure have been my go to scents.

The flows and weather have been darn near perfect lately making fishing on the river an extremely comfortable winter adventure. Looking forward as long as the weather patterns continue to be steady the fishing on the Klamath should remain steady as well.
