  • Stocking: The lake will be stocked with 1500 lbs. of trout this week. The total trout stock so far this season is 13,600 lbs. of trout from Wright's Rainbows.
  • Free Boat Launch: Do you feel lucky? Launch your boat for FREE on Friday, March 13th!  Personal watercraft, inflatable rafts, sailboats, amphi-cars, and waders are prohibited. Sit-inside kayaks that are at least 10 feet long, not self-bailing and have seats for all persons inside are allowed as well as Zodiac-type inflatables with a discernible bow, wooden transom, and wood deck.
  • Springing Forward! As the days become longer, so do the operating hours at the lake. Beginning Friday, March 13th, the lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • What's the catch? Bass are getting ready to spawn. Males and females are being reeled in all over the lake. Best bait/lure? Roboworms and swimbaits. Trout are moving farther from the shoreline as the temperatures rise. Salmon Peach and Rainbow powerbait as well as half a nightcrawler are still the baits of choice for trout. Because of the clarity of Lake Jennings, try using a lighter line. Visible line will spook finicky trout. Fishermen are catching Bluegill in Cloister and Half Moon Coves from the shore. Another large blue cat was caught and released near Siesta Cove over the rainy weekend.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is currently 61 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE.
  • Park Host Openings: Lake Jennings has volunteer Park Host positions! Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity. Park Hosts must have their own RV and be willing to live in the campground. For more information or to apply, please visit  Helix Water District's job site.
  • Just a reminder, dogs are only permitted on Bass Road leading to the campground,  in the campground, and the trails from the campground. They are not permitted on the lake side, near the shoreline, or in the water. Please keep them on a 6 foot leash and pick up after your pooch. Much appreciation!
  • Group Site: Situated at the top of Bream Drive, our group area not only has the best lake and city views on the campsite, it accommodates up to 30 people and 10 tents! The site also features a partially enclosed pavilion, fire pit, picnic tables, easy access to the restrooms, and electricity. The site is $140 per night. For information on the availability of the group site, click HERE.
  • The days are getting longer and the weather is starting to warm up! Campground reservations are picking up for the spring already. We have some full hook-up sites available beginning mid March. Full hook-up sites include sewer, water, electricity, and start at $44/night. To book your campsite online, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to [email protected] and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
