The Day stretch from Warm Springs to Trout Creek is the place to be the last couple of days. Reports from people coming into the shop are good, with fish moving into the banks and looking up for the big bugs. Fish close to shore and along any structure, under trees and next to tall grass where the fish will be waiting for any unlucky bugs dropping into the water. Down in Maupin the bugs are just about done but fishing has been lights out! Golden stones are a great bet right now and the yellow sallies are starting to crawl around as well. I have heard of a few green drake hatches lasting just about half an hour or so and the trout where eating them willfully. The River has been crowded with the holiday but fishing is improving and it’s time to get out there!
