Water temp 69-72

Water clarity 3-10’

Last weekend I had my first trip to Don Pedro since they reopened. I have kinda been putting off going to Pedro as the boat traffic has been very heavy. Well I’ve been missing out, the lake is fishing great! We started our ( me and three 13 year olds) morning throwing top water and worms, top water wasn’t great but the boys were picking fish up constantly on worms. We were throwing the X zone ned rigs and the deception worm on dart heads. As 9:30 rolled around the boys wanted to try to get a bigger bite, so we moved areas and started throwing a rigs and X Zone true center sticks. First cast with a rig and we got a 2lber, but the action slowed on the rig after that so we kept with the stick baits. The boys hammed a few more two of which were just under five pounds. We were off the water before noon to beat the heat and the boat traffic.

Overall the lake seems to be fishing well, we caught fish everywhere we went. The finesse baits were definitely more productive but top water and reaction should continue to pick up as we come into summer.
