Another Good Week of Bass Fishing

It was another good week of bass fishing, breaking fish in the mid morning has made for some good top water action. Small flukes, swimsuits and walking baits all caught the boilers. Later in the day sub surface baits, and finesse bottom presentations worked well. Most of the largemouth have been in the 1lb. To 3lb. range. The lakes bull bluegill and rewear are still biting well on drop shotted nightcrawler, red worms, and mealworms in the back of coves and creek channels all over the lake. There were no catfish reported to the concession last week.

Bass Bite Has Improved
San Vicente ReservoirThe bass bite improved this last week in both numbers and quality. Drop shooting in 20’ to 30’ was productive as well as a decent reaction bite in the afternoon. There has been a few breaking fish on the micro silversides creating some top water action for those who want to chase the boils. San Vicente ReservoirThe lake finally reopen on Saturday the 13h, boat rentals are available. The bass bite was fair, as the majority of fish are schooled and chasing bass fry in open water. Drop shooting in 20’ to 30’ of water, and senkos on the bank were reportedly the best choice. The bluegill bite was good for those targeting them.
