Metolius River Fire Update
Metolius River - Metolius Springs, OR (Jefferson County)

Website
The Metolius River area remains under an evacuation notice from Allingham River down stream due to the Lions Head Fire.
Road closures remain strict and camp ground closures remain the same. Access would only be from Riverside/Tract C through Camp Sherman down to Allingham Bridge at this time.
Golden Stones, PMD, BWO, Mahogany Duns, Caddis, Olive Stone, Hoppers, Ants, Perdigons & Jigs, PT, Red Copper John, Zebra Midge and Rainbow Warrior for those of you planing to go or tying for an upcoming trip.
The fire did move back from the river and went over the cascade crest towards Breitenbush and Detroit. So that is a relief for now as it seems the river, Camp Sherman store, the homes and businesses around there are safer for the moment.
With access so limited be careful and consider other areas to fish this week.
We are so sad to be reporting such crappy news today.
