Really good top water action early morning hours landing 4-5 pound largemouths. As it warms up for the day, set up a wacky style with a watermelon or green pumpkin senko and drop shot down deep where they hide in the afternoon heat. Bluegill are still loving those live red worms and biting 3-5 feet below your float. A few crappie were caught this week in the wee hours of the morning when the sun just comes over the mountains. Catfish are switching to worms it seems, a bundle of large crawlers have been more successful than cut baits.

Water is Still A Bit Warm & Murky
Santa Margarita LakeThe water is still a bit warm and murky holding the fish down deep with little to no activity. Top water frogs and lures have made for some decent blow ups but no one seems to get a good look at the fish. Dark senko with red flecks and creature baits with blue flecks are some of the options people have had luck with.
