Over the past week, anglers have had luck from the canal by the entrance booth for stripers using sardines, anchovies, and chicken liver. The rip rap in front of the bait shop has been producing some stripers as well on the same baits but fishing out far from the shoreline, bait and wait style. Catfish have still been biting pretty consistently down deep throughout coves and off of sandy banks around the lake on sardines or nightcrawlers. Largemouth and Smallmouth bass have been tougher to come across with reaction baits but sub-surface baits could still get bit during the morning hours. Most reports of bass have been caught off various soft plastics such as crawfish baits, roboworms along the grass and senkos throughout the day.
Winter hours are currently 7am-5pm.
Boat rentals end at 1pm and must be returned by 3pm.
