Now is the time to be up on East or Paulina before they end up closing the access gate for the Winter. They are both year-round fisheries, and they can be really fun this time of year with streamers and sinking lines around the coves, shoulders, and structure. A sink tip like with either a sink 3 or a sink 6 is the lines we like to take advantage of while fishing this time of year. The brown trout like rainbow-colored flies weighted or unweighted. Stick to the tactic of a bright day, bright fly, and then work your way to darker colors as you switch out. We can normally plan on switching out flies every 5-10 minutes while working areas aggressively from a pontoon or from shore on East lake. Watch out for the removal of the docks on Paulina as well, check before you head out that way with your boat.
