  • Stocking:  Another 1,500 lbs. of trout will be added to the lake this week bringing our total stock to 8,500 lbs. so far this season. Stocking will be biweekly throughout the season to reach a total of 19,000 lbs.
  • What's the catch? The bass bite was good on the t-dock and Eagle Point. Anglers were using drop shot and bright colored worms. Early mornings were productive for trout last weekend even without the stock. Hookup Baits in gold and black were reeling them in. With this week's stock, expect to see the trout in Siesta and Hermit Coves on Friday and Saturday moving into Eagle and Half Moon Coves later in the weekend. Pick up some powerbait at the bait shop to fish this week's stock.
  • Trout Night Fishing Tips: Trout will be most active the first hour or two of darkness, so get to the lake before sunset on Thursday to take advantage. Our rangers recommend using a bright colored powerbait for fishing at night. Powerbait with glitter is a good option as it will pick up any ambient light and attract the trout's attention. Be sure to use a light line that the trout can't see. Four to six pound test should do the trick.
  • We love your furry four-legged friends as much as you do, but dogs are not allowed on the recreation side of the lake per our recreation permit with the Dept. of Environmental Health, Division of Drinking Water. The "recreation" side encompasses the bait shop and parking lot, boat dock and parking lot and the road/areas beyond. You may walk your dogs on the campground road. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • New Moon Fishing: Night fishing is back! Join us on Thursday, January 14th from 3:00 - 9:30 p.m. for night fishing. Boat launches and rentals will be available. Full sized lanterns are required after 5:00 p.m.
  • MLK Jr. Day: On Monday, January 18th, the lake will be open for fishing and boating from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • We've adjusted our fishing, boating, and camping fees to help offset the extra staff and sanitation required to stay open and keep our visitors safe. For more information about the new fees, please click HERE.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 60 degrees. For an updated weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • We're HIRING! We're looking for a Volunteer Park Host or two to live and work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (including weekends and holidays) for a campsite with water, sewer, and electricity. For more information, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to [email protected] and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
