Consistent Choice for Some Decent Trout Fishing

Although a little crowded the Metolius has been a consistent choice for some decent trout fishing. The hatches are mainly Baetis around 1-3pm and the trout are fully expecting those bugs most days. The Whitefish are done spawning but eggs are always a good bet to trail behind a bigger stonefly or october caddis. The Bull Trout fishing was slower this week, at least for me, but there are plenty of fish around and they are being caught. Streamers are always my go to, big and white, but plenty of good fish have been eating stoneflies and egg patterns. I would use plenty of split shot under an indicator with a two fly rig on some fluorocarbon. The Clear water makes the fish picky  so getting down to 5x is common when targeting the rainbows. Access is fine down to 99 with a little ice/snow but nothing crazy. The weather is looking pretty good this coming week and hopefully I will be out there either Wednesday or Thursday.
