Throughout the windy week, anglers have been catching stripers and catfish along the rip rap and the canal by the entrance booth on various cut baits, mainly sardines, anchovies, and chicken liver with a heavier sinker to manage the winds and current. People have also had luck around the lake dropping down bait for stripers in deeper water (up to 80ft) around Chumash Island, Spanish Point, and the Yellowbar areas. The Trout bite has slowed down a bit since the last plant on 2/22/21 but have still been caught throughout the marina and first few coves off powerbaits and nightcrawlers. The bass bite has stayed pretty consistent on soft plastic setups like senkos, jigs, and roboworms either Texas rigged or drop shot style, working the deeper water along steeper walls and rocky points and coves throughout the lake.
