  • Stocking:  The next trout stocking of 1,500 lbs. is the week of March 22nd. Only three more stockings until trout season draws to a close! To date, a total of 14,500 trout have been stocked in the lake. To view an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? A 75+ pound catfish was pulled out of the southeast corner of the lake this weekend. This monster bit on good ol' mackerel! It was safely released. The bass bite continues to be consistent in the shallows. Try fishing in Cloister or Siesta Coves. Anglers are using shiners, senkos, and drop shot to reel them in. The trout are in the channels, so trolling is your best bet. If you do fish from shore try a long cast about 35-40 feet. Redears were nibbling this weekend. We had a report of a 1.5-pounder pulled out of Half Moon Cove this weekend.
  • Spring Photo Contest: This year's Spring Photo Contest theme is Life at the Lake. We welcome photos of camping, fishing, vistas, and people enjoying activities at Lake Jennings. Prizes will be awarded in youth and adult categories. The deadline for photo submission is May 31st. For more information about the Spring Photo Contest, click HERE.
  • Spring Break: The lake will be open daily for camping, fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, and more March 19 - April 4! We're offering free boat launches on Tuesday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 30. For information regarding our daily hours during spring break click HERE.
  • Fireside at the Lake: Friday nights are for campfires! We have lakefront campfire pits for rent from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday nights. Use fees and advanced reservations are required. Rentals include firepit, wood, firestarter, and Adirondack chairs. Ask about our add on packages! Firepits are available for single households only, 4-6 persons. For more information, call 619-596-1306.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 60 degrees. Water transparency is 51 feet. Looks like it will be cool and partly cloudy this weekend...perfect for fishing! For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground News: The campground is open for new reservations! Tent campers are welcome too. Did you know that there is a 15% discount for stays of 7 consecutive nights? Book your lake view site by visiting our reservations page.
