Water Conditions: GOOD

As of 5-21 the flow above Hot Creek confluence is 91 CFS. The water is becoming discolored and still very cold.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: GOOD

Many fish have been caught recently in the section below the Monument and the inlet of Crowley Lake.
Look for the fish to be a bit spooky with the low water flow. Fluorocarbon tippet and leaders are highly recommended. A plus side to the clear water is there should be lots of "sight fishing opportunities" to be had. The BWO hatches are consistent midday as are the Midge hatches early.
The fish are feeding voraciously subsurface and on top from 11am to 4pm. Some Caddis have been seen but no full blown hatch yet.

Recommended Flies:

-NYMPHS-
Optimized ALL COLORS #16-#18 #18-20 WD-40 in Grey or Black, #16-18 Pheasant Tail, #16-18 Copper John, #14-18 Hare's Ear, #14-18 Zug Bug and #16-18 RS2 Emerger. As water color gets darker try Glo-bugs and San Juan worms.

-DRIES-

-STREAMERS- Docs Twin lake Special in Olive, Black or Brown, Hornbergs, Matukas and Wooly Buggers.
