Just a quick note to report the irrigation season is beginning on the Crooked River and that the river has begun coming up to Summer levels. I would avoid fishing today and tomorrow but it should be fine by mid week when it settles to normal flows for the next 6+ months.
We would not expect the Blue Wing Olive hatch to be affected much by mid week. And, we would also expect that the fishing will improve as more fish will have room to spread out.
Love seeing the heavy flows coming into the reservoir! 1200 cfs today. The reservoir is starting to fill and that is good news for summer.

If you are going today or tomorrow, when the water comes up we’ve often experienced really good bites on Leeches, both swinging and dead drifted.
