The bait bite for stripers has been excellent over the past couple of weeks along the rip rap by the boat shop, the canal along the front by the entrance booth and the swim beach area. Most anglers have had the most luck using sardines, mackerel and anchovies to catch stripers throughout the day both from the shorelines and around the lake by Chumash Island, Yellowbar and Spanish Point.

Trout have still been biting nightcrawlers and powerbait from the shoreline as well since the previous trout plant on April 1st.

The bass bite is also starting to pick up with the warmer weather, biting crank baits, jerk baits, and various soft plastics setups such as senko, roboworms, and jigs.

Catfish are also biting cut baits like chicken livers, anchovies and nightcrawlers down deep throughout the coves and drop offs around the lake.
