Crane Prairie will be open to fishing on the 22nd and we’re super hyped. It should be a killer early season. The fish will be spread out while the water is still cool, so try and cover some water. For the early season it’s typically most productive to focus your efforts fishing below the surface. Chironomid patterns are great to start out with, as well as small callibaetis and midges. Balanced leeches fished under an indicator or stripping leeches with a sinking line can be an excellent way to entice an eat. There’s some amazing fish out there, we hope you're all as pumped as we are to catch some big cranebows.
Recommended Dries: Chubby Chernobyl Patriot and Purple #12-14, Para- Cricket #16-12
Recommended Nymphs: Bruised Ballanced Leech #14, Two Bit Hooker #20, Zebra Midge #18-20, Super Sinker #16-18, bead wing midge #18-20, Red Pheasant Tail #14-18.
