We have been getting some mixed reports for Crane. Some say it’s been very slow, some say it’s been excellent. Judging from that, it seems that the fishing is good; however, the fish are selective and slightly stubborn. Crane Prairie resort boat ramp and the Quinn River boat ramp are the only two open ramps. Quinn river has reduced parking for tree removal. If you’ve been up there recently you’ll know that midges are the most prominent hatch. The majority of fish seem to be getting caught on very small midge patterns fished under an indicator, no larger than size 20. We’ve also heard good things about olive balanced leech patterns. Stripping has not been mentioned much around the shop but it’s always worth a shot. As we move through spring the fish should start to channel up more, and fishing will likely pick up quite a bit.

Recommended Dries: Chubby Chernobyl Patriot and Purple #12-14, Para- Cricket #16-12

Recommended Nymphs: Bruised Ballanced Leech #14, Two Bit Hooker #20, Zebra Midge #18-20, Super Sinker #16-18, bead wing midge #18-20, Red Pheasant Tail #14-18, Rainbow Warrior #18-20, Red Ice Cream Cone #12-16
