Anchovies are the bait of choice for striped bass anglers along the shorelines of the river. Action is being reported at the south end of Big Bend State Recreation area and just below Davis Dam. Most fish are weighing in between 2 and 5 pounds, but a few lucky anglers have landed fish in the double digits.

Jiggs Reservoir (Zunino Reservoir): The lake has very low water levels
Jakes Creek Reservoir (Boies Reservoir): The water level is still dropping as irrigation continues
Illipah Reservoir: Water levels have remained relatively stable this year
Comins Lake: With the hot weather, trout fishing is slowing down
Cold Creek Reservoir: The work on the dam is complete
Cave Lake: Cave Lake is sitting approximately 15 feet below normal water level
Angel Lake: Fishing has been good here depending upon the day
