Donner Lake has a good kokanee bite in the morning. Anglers should fish for kokanee around 60 feet. The Mack bite should pick up in the next few weeks. Anglers that are currently fishing for macks are vertically jigging or fishing down deep in 100 feet of water. Donner lake also still has a good rainbow trout bite off the boat ramp, near china cove, and off of docks 12-16. Some recommended bait for shore anglers to use is powerbait or worms.
