  • Stocking: The last stocking of 1,000 lbs. was the week of September 13th. The average weight of the stock is about two and a half pounds. Another 1,000 pounds will go into the lake the week of October 4th. For the time being, we will remain open for night fishing on Fridays and Saturdays. For an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? Bass continue to bite from the t-dock. Our rangers recommend using shiners. The panfish bite has been steady in Cloister Cove. They seem to be biting on meal worms and nightcrawlers. With the catfish stocking last week, limits were pulled in Hermit and Half Moon Coves. Mackerel, chicken liver, dough baits...the hungry stock was biting on just about everything. Trout season opener is typically in November. A stocking schedule and event details on the trout opener will be announced in the coming weeks.
  • Conditions: The current temperature is 78 degrees. The aerator is on, so the temperature in the water column is fairly steady throughout with variances no more than a few degrees. New Moon is October 6th. The district will continue filling the lake through the end of the week. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Job Openings: We're hiring dockhands at the lake! We are looking for part-time dockhands to work on the dock and help care for and maintain our boat rental fleet. Must have an excellent customer service ethic and work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well as most holidays. If you are interested in finding out more information regarding this position, visit the Helix Water District's Career Page.
  • Campground News: Have you seen our new game area in the campground? We have bocce ball, cornhole, giant jenga, and tetherball to round out your camping experience. We also have cornhole and horseshoe sets available for rent and ladderball bolos for purchase to play at our various ladderball courts throughout the campground. Stop by the kiosk and ask about all of the fun campground activities!
  • Spooky Camp-O-Ween: It's back! The last 2 weekends at the campground in October are reserved for the frightfully fun, ghoulish good times! Join us October 22-24 or October 29-31 for campsite decorating, creepy crafts, spooky scavenger hunt, and more! Campsites are filling up quickly! Reserve yours today.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to [email protected] and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
