Celebrate National Public Lands Day tomorrow (Sept. 25) with free entrance to state lands — no Discover Pass or Vehicle Pass required. Consider a trip to one of dozens of WDFW-managed wildlife areas, such as the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area in Okanogan County. Established in 1992 as a site to support recovery of the region's sharp-tailed grouse population, this 9,604-acre wildlife area includes habitat for white-tailed deer, mule deer, California quail, hawks, woodpeckers and other birds. Visitors can enjoy hunting, camping, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and more. Learn more about the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area at https://wdfw.wa.gov/.../wildli.../scotch-creek-wildlife-area.
