We've were off last week chasing bluefin down in SD..Fishing was slow, but the tuna were BIG. I made it home Thursday night and with the weekend marked off on the calendar,  we decided to sign up and fish the Rio Vista Bass Derby hoping the fish we were catching before I left for Socal were still around.

Never thought it would be so hard to hit a target length on a 25 inch fish (measured to the fork) We caught over 250 fish in 2 days tossing swimbaits and jigs with very few shakers, but most fish were 1/2in short or obviously too big. Im very happy to see the scattered large schools of fish around and excited for the next few months. I was just out of the $$$ in 4th place, but won a nice Phoenix rod and Avet reel, my kid took 2nd in the kids division, and my buddy took 10th.  We're on plenty of fish right now, give us a call to book your trip!
