The bass bite was up this week especially in the north facing coves. Crank baits are working well but it takes a little more skill and experience this time of year. Shiners are always a good bet and can be found at the bait shop. Bluegill are biting on small pieces of worm and if you can find live crochets that are loving those.

The catfish are showing a little more. Some cats are being caught in Padre Bay, others are coming from San Carlos Cove. The largemouth bass are really falling off. The bass bite is definitely in the afternoon, the bass are busting on shad in the late afternoon. One fishermen reported catching5 bass in the afternoon just by following the boiling bass, he was using Kastmasters, baby flukes and shiners. Fishing is still fairly slo here at Lake Murray but there are multiple anglers that are catching anywhere from 7-10 fish daily. The bass have seemed to move more into the shallows where as before they were down about 45 feet. Most of the anglers that are doing well have moved to fishing the tulles/reeds with drop shot rigs and senoks.
