Anglers were still catching fish through the ice this past weekend. Nighttime temperatures are still in the high 20s but expected to drop a bit later in the week. There’s a chance for snow later this coming weekend. Ice depth was last reported at 8-12 inches on Jan. 15. Ice depth can change rapidly at Fish Lake and ice anglers should use their own judgement and do so at their own risk if they venture out.
For more information on National Forest developed recreation sites, fire restrictions and campground information for the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest please visit here. Sno park permits are necessary for parking from November 1-April 30. A season pass can be purchased for $25 dollars (there’s also 1 day and 3 day available) at vendors such as REI, Blackbird Shopping Center, or Sportsman’s Warehouse in Medford, and the Ace Hardware in Shady Cove
