The rain over the past weekend did not amount to much but it did slightly color up the steelhead rivers in the Coquille Basin. Even in these low water conditions, new brighter steelhead are moving upstream in the North Fork and South Fork Coquille rivers. Anglers should concentrate their fishing efforts on the large deep pools. Steelhead anglers will need to be stealthy in their approach to their fishing spots or you can spook fish easily.

Trout fishing in streams and rivers will reopen May 22.
