Attention Boaters: There is an impassable boating hazard on the Necanicum River between Klootchie county park and the Hwy 101 boat ramps. (Exact location 45.96553, -123.92740). Boaters should avoid this obstruction for the time being.
The hatchery winter steelhead run on the Necanicum River is about done, and numbers of bright fish will be very low. Wild steelhead (catch-and-release only) should be available throughout the fishery as the Necanicum drops back into shape. The Necanicum is a small basin and drops quickly so it may be fishable as early as Thursday.
