The aqueduct retained its status as one of the valleys most reliable fisheries last week with anglers reporting plenty of good quality striper, bass, and catfish. Cut baits, jumbo live minnows, and lugworms soaked on the bottom fooled plenty of striped bass. Those same baits along with chicken liver, and dip bait helped anglers to haul in some impressive catfish. Striper anglers also used small swimbaits, flukes, and jerkbaits to fool jailbirds before and after check gates. Bass anglers continued their assault on the largemouth with Senkos, drop shot, and topwater baits. The best action has been in slower moving water early in the day.
