The water is not only warming up but it’s clearing up as well. With a few more warm days the water will climb to spawn temperature and we should start seeing some double digit females. For all you spawn fishermen out there get your gear in order and get ready cause it’s coming. Some bass are already being spotted in the shallows. Some bass re still being caught in 40 foot of water. Shiners are still the ticket for catching these bass.

Water temperature: 61 degrees.

The largemouth bass are still at 15-20 feet deep. One new angler to Lake Murray fished from his own boat and caught 4 nice bass and lost 2. The fish were all about 15 foot deep and in the 2 lb. category. He was fishing with plastic worms ( margarita mutilator). The temperature moved up into the 80’s this week. The best fishing was for crappie this week. The Arms and Alvardado Bay were producing good size fish. We have shiners at the bait shop that are working well. Crappie jigs and rigs were also doing good things. The Catfish have been steady with the recent plant.
