Wallowa Lake has had ice on in throughout the latter part of the winter. However, with the warming weather, the ice will begin to melt. Visitors to Wallowa Lake should use caution around the lake, and recreationists should not attempt to ice fish or venture out onto Wallowa Lake unless the ice on the lake is thick enough to be safe. Always be careful around frozen waterbodies and consult the information above for useful safety guidelines regarding recreation on or around frozen waterbodies.
