The Applegate River is currently closed to trout and steelhead fishing. Trout will reopen on May 22.
As of March 29, the fish counts to the trap at the base of Applegate Dam is 66 steelhead, with 32 showing up that week. An updated trap check was not available at the time of the writing of this report.
As of Wednesday morning, the Wilderville stream gauge was reading 199 cfs/2.18 ft., steady, and 48 degrees. Temperature is 46.1 F and 127 cfs coming out of the dam. You can check the USGS stream gauge flows on the Applegate to get the most up to date information.
