Our SFR Charter aboard John Pitman's Outrider out of 22nd St. Sportfishing was an absolute blast. We rolled the dice and took the gamble of chasing after some late season tuna. Captain Jeff Jessop and Crew gave us the scoop about the current conditions and ultimately left it up to the anglers to decide. Ideas were tossed back and forth and we decided to charge down to the tuna grounds and give it all we've got! The pictures will confirm that the right decision was made!
I was very pleased to see this beautiful 50ft Delta with so many upgrades and attention to detail. John Pitman's love for his vessel really shows and when you board this gorgeous sportboat you will truly appreciate all of the amenities. The Outrider was recently re-powered with John Deer motors, the future plans include air conditioned bunks as well as an RSW - refrigerated sea water to keep you catch sushi grade fresh!
Captain Jeff and his Crew did an outstanding job putting their anglers on the catch and making sure everyone was specially accommodated. We left the harbor with nine hard core anglers in search of exotics. A few of the passengers have never latched onto an exotic so we had very high hopes for a late season bite. Congratulations to Ryan Shopay, Gabe Kuhn, and John Wang for landing their first Bluefin, Albacore, Yellowtail, and Dorado. That's about as exotic as they come! A special thanks for the Captain and Crew for making that happen!
We were very fortunate to have two explosive days of fishing. The first day we kicked the tuna in the teeth, and for day two we loaded up our sacks in a non-stop bite including some monster lingcod, rockfish, whitefish, and sheephead. The Outrider is the perfect boat for an intimate, limited load charter. I can hardly wait to fish with these guys again, give them a call and make your next trip a memorable one. For Open Party or Charter information you can call John Pittman at 310-547-9388, or call up 22nd St. Sportfishing at 310-832-8386. Make sure you tell them Sportfishingreport.com sent you! That's the word on the water and here's to an epic season!
