Streamers: Didn't Try
Water has cleared some, the flows have been stable for a couple of weeks now. The fish have settled into the tailouts of the deeper runs and pools and the long knee deep water in the straight sections. Hatches were going off when I got there a couple of days ago around 8am. Saw a bunch of Trico spinners headed to their inevitable doom around 9am, so you want to run drowned spinners as either a dropper fly or under your indicator. We also had success fishing them on the surface in the shadows along the high banks in the foam. PMDs were also hatching in good numbers until about 10am along with some smaller BWOs til about 11. Things slowed down substantially after 11, and probably picked back up again around 4 with the afternoon Caddis hatch. It's not going super strong yet, but the fish I've been pumping are getting impatient and eating lots of cased caddis under the indicator between hatches, just can't get one to look up at one yet. Euro nymphing was just as successful but I tend to put that rod away anytime I see rising fish.
